Ph.D in Personalised Digital Technologies, building behavioural models enpowered with AI, based on biomedical signals and contextual data Scadenza: 10 January 2023 The University of Applied Sciences of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI) has opened a full time position (100%) for a PhD student in Personalised Digital Technologies, building behavioural models enpowered with AI, based on biomedical signals and contextual data within the Institute of Digital Technologies for Personalized HealthCare (MeDiTech) at the Department of Innovative Technologies (DTI), based at the USI-SUPSI university campus in Lugano-Viganello (East Campus). The contract will start on start on 1 February 2023 or date to be agreed upon.

Tasks

  • Applied research in the field of BioMedical Signal Processing, mainly from Smartwatches.
  • Data Collection, Data Fusion and Data Analysis.
  • Persuasive technologies, Statistical Behavioural Modeling.
  • Development of Algorithms for Stress and Coping Monitoring, LifeStyle Change and for Burnout Prevention.
  • Applied research in the development of intelligent systems for personalized digital techinologies with AI tools.
  • Actively communicate, interact and work with the working group and the international project partnership.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Health Data Science or Biomedical Engineering, or in another quantitative science as Computer Science, Math, Physics, Statistics, or similar. Preferably with specialization in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning.
  • Proven experience in the processing of biomedical signals and the application of advanced analytical techniques and knowledge of the main hardware (wearable devices) and software tools that implement it (Python, R)
  • Experience of work and / or research in the fields of application of artificial intelligence to the medical-clinical field.
  • Excellent knowledge of English (both written and spoken).
  • Good relationship skills, team work and good autonomy in managing the technical and organizational problems of one’s work.
  • Ability to interact in multidisciplinary and multicultural contexts.
  • Strong mathematics competences and strong motivation to do research and to publish.
  • Good programming skills (Matlab/R/Python).
